BEIJING, December 15 (TMTPOST) -China’s Silicon Valley Shenzhen attracted over 260 investment deals and drew in more than 820 billion yuan (US$128.8 billion) of investment at the 2021 Shenzhen Global Investment Conference on Wednesday.

The investment conference was organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, Shenzhen Municipal Government Press Release Office and Shenzhen Municipal Government Foreign Affairs Office, which aims to showcase Shenzhen’s innovative economy, business environment and investment potential to investors and entrepreneurs from around the world. The conference was held at Wu Zhou Guest House Shenzhen on December 15 and opened to senior executives from leading companies across the globe.
The 2020 Shenzhen Global Investment Conference garnered 242 investment deals involving a total amount of 780 billion yuan (US$122.5 billion). China National Building Material, Suning.com, Wingtech Technology and Dian Diagnostics Group signed deals directly with Shenzhen at the conference. According to Shenzhen’s municipal party secretary Wang Weizhong, 220 out of the 242 project deals had been implemented.
This year’s investment conference had 12 parallel venues across the globe, including Los Angeles, Toronto, St. Paulo, London and Johannesburg. The conference invited entrepreneurs and investors from both home and abroad to participate in the conference and make investments in the city.
Shenzhen currently has 3.77 million business entities, which has made the city a hotbed for commerce and innovation in China, Wang said. In the first ten months of 2021, Shenzhen attracted foreign investment of US$20.99 billion, registering a year-on-year increase of 19.8%, statistics from the Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality show.
