English|Huawei Launches First AITO Vehicle “Wenjie M5", Starting from US$39,200
BEIJING, December 23 (TMTPOST) — Chinese telecom giant Huawei introduced the AITO “Wenjie M5” SUV co-developed with its automaking partner SERES at its winter launch on Thursday.
Running on both electricity and fuel, AITO Wenjie M5 is a mid-sized SUV powered by Huawei’s DriveONE electrical system and HarmonyOS smart cockpit.
The price of the vehicle ranges from 250,000 yuan to 320,000 yuan (around US$39,200 to US$50,200).
The rear-drive standard version is priced at 250,000 yuan. The four-wheel-drive performance version and four-wheel-drive flagship version are priced at 280,000 yuan and 320,000 yuan respectively.

AITO Wenjie M5 is the first car to run with Huawei’s HarmonyOS operating system, which allows the car to seamlessly flow with other smart devices.

It is equipped with a 10.4-inch curved full LCD dashboard, a 15.6-inch 2K HDR intelligent central command display and a wireless charging area. Wenjia M5 also has a 2-square-meter sunroof, which provides users with an open view and relaxing experience. The model comes with six metallic exterior colors and three interior colors, giving consumers a total of 18 different color options to choose from.
Wenjia M5 can generate 3.2 kWh of electricity with one liter of fuel through the 1.5T four-cylinder range extender 3.0. It can run for 1,242km on a full charge and with a full tank in a CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) test.
Huawei’s HarmonyOS allows Wenjie M5’s smart cockpit to connect with smart devices, including smartphones, intelligent appliances and smartwatches, etc.
The car features L2+ autonomous functions, including lane cruising assistance, blind-spot alerts, and 360° intelligent parking in over 100 scenarios.
Consumers will be able to see Wenjia M5 at 180 Huawei outlets in 42 cities in China, starting from December 23. Test drive will be available from January 20, 2022, at 500 Huawei outlets in 118 cities in the country. Consumers can also pre-order the car via AITO’s website or the Huawei app.
Delivery of the car is expected after the Chinese New Year, which falls on February 1, 2022.
