史蒂芬·平克（Steven Pinker），加拿大籍的认知心理学家，语言学家，思想家，他出版了一本叫《风格感觉——21世纪写作指南》，是英语写作的典范。
他说“写作是将网状的、树状的思维进行线状表达。我们头脑中的思维总是离散、跳跃的，会同时涌上很多的念头，彼此之间没有什么联系，混乱不堪。就像是剧场散场一样，所有人都朝出口走去，但没有人维护秩序，这容易导致堵塞。”
