In July 2017, I had twice business trips in Vietnam. I missed our HCMC Office Opening Day in my first trip, but luckyly that due to lack of flight tickets in second trip, I had a nice weekend there.
When I go on a trip, I would like be a local. There are so many beautiful sceneries everywhere in this world, but only history and culture make something different.
Even this was my third time business trip in Vietnam, I have to lose face to say that I only left hotel twice in these three trips. Due to my work is office support, normally I needn't to be in business trip. Even I am in a trip, most time I stay in hotel for supporting meeting arrangement ,office renovation or training. Those all works no need to go outside of the building.
Well,I would like to record my first alone weekend in HCMC first. Others are all long stories.
OPERA & THEATER
I am lucky that we have a female office admin assistant in HCMC now. She took me on a motorcycle to visit the city. Until that moment I realized many scenery spots were just around my hotel!!! I decided to go to the theatre in weekend immediately.
Sunday morning was rainning. I stayed in room to watch "GAME OF THRONES- THE WARS TO COME". In the evening the rain stopped, and I dressed up to go to the theater which one is very close to me.
There are three shows in that theater. AO SHOW, TEH DAR and THE MIST. The sales asked me want to watch local show or western show. So I finally bought "TEH DAR" ticket.(I chose the cheapest seat, but not influence effect. 630000VND, is about 197RMB)
TEH DAR For TripAdvisor, I didn't know it is an international website before. But many restaurants, hotel or service places want you review on it this time. Website shows some people thought TEH DAR was boring as with most buildings in Vietnam - a waste of time. But I feel it is wonderful!
Like many other Asian countries, China and Vietnam are products of Oriental Civilization and social development. Most of the countries in the east are traditional countries that advocate agricultural and arable land.
TEH DAR, first act is a team lived on this land, second act is a love story happened on the river, third act is agricultural, last a few acts are about religion and sacrifice. Different from western countries, this show is even almost no words, no luxuriant clothes, no stage properties. Their stage properties were very simple, straight sticks and straw baskets. The whole show relied on body language. You will never believe on some straight sticks and straw baskets can show that Architectural Beauty! Bamboo, Wooden, River, Powerful, Graceful, Flexibility, Simple happiness, Starry sky, the layer sense of space and stereo artistic...
Opera On-site Due to cameras are forbidden in the opera, only took a theater photo in the end. (This one who was sitting in the front of me, my sight had to pass through his head, and then saw the stage...After joined MBCI, I realized that flight business cabin is design for bald guys. I have saw too many business men are bald...So, when I see the bald men now, I feel there is a kind of familiarity feeling.)
