节日英语作文1
The August Moon Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival (Chinese characters above) is one of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is held on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. Chinese legends say that the moon is at its brightest and roundest on this day. Based on the Gregorian calendar, this year"s August Moon Festival will be held on September 19.
The August Moon Festival is often called the Women"s Festival. The moon (Chinese character on right) symbolizes elegance and beauty. While Westerners worship the sun (yang or male) for its power, people in the Far East admire the moon. The moon is the "yin" or female principle and it is a trusted friend. Chinese parents often name their daughters after the moon, in hope that they will be as lovely as the moon.

I like a lot of festivals, there are Dragon Boat Festival, children"s day, Mid-Autumn festival, but my favorite is Spring Festival. In the sound of firecrackers, spring winds send warm to the butcher. Chinese New Year! Chinese New Year! Every household is busy to stick spring couplet, set off firecrackers, good lively! My family is no exception. My father is busy with the Spring Festival couplets. You see, shanglian is spring and summer, the next is autumn auspicious. When we finished the Spring Festival couplets, we came to the downstairs and saw the night sky being broken by many fireworks. It was brighter than the stars. Dad has moved many firecrackers and fireworks, dad picking up a day monkey, peng, pa, say late, it"s fast, day monkey straight to the night sky, suddenly turned into a beautiful fireworks, drifting towards the night sky... I also took a flash stick and rolled it around, scattering countless little stars... Many colorful fireworks are shining in the sky, sometimes as if they are still holding the sky. Some of the fireworks had not yet been set before they rose a few more, and then they were blown up again and again... Some fireworks at lightning speed, pile to the phenomenon, in the air, pour down, as if the next beautiful meteor shower, is like a big waterfall, also really a little "plunges three thousand feet" feeling! My heart is very bright, this is really "the firecracker vocs the old year old, every house door welcomes the new spring". We left the table satisfied with the New Year"s eve dinner. After setting off the firecracker to get the red envelope, grandma gave me a red envelope and said to me mysteriously, "you must put it under the pillow so that it will bring you good luck!"
New Year"s day is really good.

Dear Mike,
How are you? I’m really glad that you are interested in traditional Chinese festivals. There are many traditional festivals in China, such as Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Day and so on. I’d like to introduce the Spring Festival to you. Spring Festival is the most important traditional holiday in China. It usually lasts for 15 days 。
Days before the festival, people clean their houses. They think cleaning sweeps any bad luck. They decorate their houses with paper cuts. On the eve of the festival, family members get together and have big meals. Then they watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. At midnight, they set off fireworks to welcome the New Year. During the festival, kids get lucky money from old people. People visit their relatives and friends. They wish each a happy year and good luck. How happy we are 。
Best wishes!
Yours,
