July 12, Beijing (TMTPost) – Chinese tech giant Tencent’s CSIG (Chinese Cloud & Smart Industries Business Group) announced on Tuesday that it has established an Enterprise & Government business line focusing on government affairs, industrial sectors, energy, culture and tourism, agriculture, real estate, sports and operators.
Tencent’s Vice President Li Qiang will serve as the President for the Enterprise & Government business line. Li will be responsible for managing the team and regional business development.
This is another major organizational change at Tencent CSIG in one year. This means that Tencent has figured out its strategy for the enterprise and government market. Tencent CSIG will be focusing its resources on penetrating the To B and To G market and promote its business in regional markets. In addition, the business group will pour in more resources into the research and development of big data, security, TCE, TDSQL and TRTC to increase the competitiveness of its inhouse products.
In May last year, Tencent CSIG came up with the strategies of focusing on the industry, regional markets and increasing efficiency. The business group also started its smart industry and service business line, recruiting the former Global Senior Vice President of SAP Li Qiang as the director. The move helped Tencent turn its digital technologies into applications in China’s digital economy.
Tencent’s Senior Executive Vice President and CSIG CEO Tang Daosheng said that To B business has become a growth driver for Tencent after rapid development. According to Tang, the company has a firm belief in investing in the Internet industry. He said that the company would need to study the pain points within the industry and provide better services for clients from different industries.
In the To G market, Tencent Cloud has helped over 30 ministries and commissions, over 20 provinces and more than 500 cities and townships undergo digital transformation.
