近年来，电子商务已经成为我国经济发展热点之一。究其原因，是因为电子商务符合时代的要求，具有广阔的环境和市场以及更快速的流通和低廉的价格。 电子商务是一项利用微电脑技术和网络通讯技术进行的商务活动。大大提高了商品交易效率，节省了客户的时间和空间。
电子商务大大地改变了人们的生活方式，尤其是交易方式的改变。这着重体现在供给和需求上，随着电子商务的推广，虚拟网络平台出现了一条新型的产品供应链，而实现电子商务的价值过程就是一个供应链管理的过程。供应链管理就是使供应链运作达到最大化和成本最小化，从而提高产品的供给量。再加上电子商务的方便性和协调性，也对应地提高了人们对商品的需求。这就是电商改变的供给和需求的部分。然而，对于一些有购物欲望的消费者来说，电商的应用并不能满足自身对于购物的体验，再加上网络交易的安全性是一个隐患。所以电商并不能完全改变人类生活的供给和需求结构。中国2017年发布的CNNIC第40次《中国互联网发展状况统计报告》中指出：截止至2017年6月，我国网民规模达到7.51亿，半年共计新增网民1992万人，半年增长率为2.7%。互联网普及率为54.3%，较2016年底提升1.1个百分点；截至2017年6月，我国手机网民规模达7.24亿，较2016年底增加2830万人。网民中使用手机上网的比例由2016年底的95.1%提升至96.3%，手机上网比例持续提升。

在互联网中也出现了许多与电商有关的应用，京东、淘宝之类的网购平台，也有共享单车、滴滴打车之类的出行平台，这些是使用率较多的应用。除此之外，还有网上理财，在线教育以及网络游戏、视频、音乐、文学作品的购买等。

The Internet has revolutionized our lives to such an extent that for most people, the
global network has become more then just a tool but rather an indispensable aid in
everyday life. More and more people go online as wireless networks have brought
the Internet closer and closer: it's on our mobile phones, in our cars and TV sets, in
hospital surgery rooms and in fishing boats that battle the waves of the Atlantic.
And this revolution has brought along with it a new way of shopping. Both big and
small, e-commerce websites have literally flooded the Internet by the hundreds of
thousands. Anything you can buy from a brick and mortar store you can also buy
online: from food and clothes to guns and ammo, no matter what you're looking
for, you're bound to find the right online store with just a few clicks of the mouse.
The recent advancements in mobile technology and the introduction of mobile
phones with enhanced web capabilities has even made some people order their
groceries when they get out from work and have them delivered at their doorstep
by the time they get home. And as "Time is money", this practice is lifesaving for
people who work two jobs.
Technology will continue to advance and e-commerce will follow closely in its
footsteps. Everything will become easier and less time consuming, leaving us more
time to enjoy the things that really matter in life: the ones we love, our friends and
