Chapter 4 Another trick?

I dropped to the ground, another black door appeared. Can it be the real gate of The Laboratory?I thought. At least there is no bullshit about some wings.
“Welcome, Jason from Chalonia,I am Dr. Mystery.” A kind-looking old man with long white beard emerged in frontof the gate. I went suspicious, after all the deceptions before, how could I believe he is the true Dr. Mystery? What if he was just another fooling fraud created by some weirdoes?
“Well, I have no ideahow to prove my identity right know, but I can show you something convincing.”The suspected doctor took out a robot model from the pocket, it was alimited-edition garage kit-the automatic dinosaur. As far as the newspublishers revealed, there were only 500 of them were made legally, people who owned them must be very rich or with great power behind them. The suspected doctor was not either of them, so this must be Dr. Mystery himself! I concluded logically.
“Seems you’re quite clever,” Dr. Mystery smiled meaningfully, his voice echoed in my head. “Now I see why you can past the first test.” “The first test? You mean there will be a second one?” “Indeed, now you need to drink this potion, I want to make sure thatyou truly believes in me. By the way this potion is grape-flavored, your favorite.” A glass of purple liquid directly landed in my hand. I hesitated,after all these tricks, can I trust this man in front of me? But I reallywanted to visit the lab since it has been my dream for decades. Why should someone like that want to kill someone like me? I plucked up courage and emptied the glass. Nothing strange happened to me, I was still alive and haven’tchanged into something else yet. Perhaps I was just being suspicious, theformer test was just for fun, this potion is just some kind of juice in disguise, and Dr. Mystery was just a clever old man with a young heart, I misunderstood him. “Well, thank you for trusting me, Jason. Welcome to my lab!And I promise this will be the last time saying this.”
