一级主任医生，教授，博士导师 。现任中南大学（湘雅二医院）肾脏病研究所所长、湖南省血液净化与肾脏病重点实验室主任、中华医学会肾脏病学分会常委、中国医师协会内科肾脏病分会常委、中国病理生理学会肾脏病专业委员会副主任委员、中国研究型医院学会肾脏病专业委员会副主任委员、世界华人肾脏医师协会常委兼基础组组长、获得国家自科重点、国家重点基础研发等项目10余项，发表SCI论文145篇，H指数35、出版肾脏病专著4部 。
